Project : Business Council Liaison & Engagement
Background:
The number of businesses owned and operated by non-resident Nepalese in Australia is on the rise. With this growth, an opportunity has emerged to promote bilateral trade and investment between Nepal and Australia. In 2013, NRNA Australia played a vital role to establish the Business Council as project and establishment of Nepalese Business Council in Australia has created a platform to all the business groups from Nepalese origin in Australia for further exploration of bilateral trade and investment.
Scope:
- Play a vital role in establishing a working relationship with Nepalese Business Council, Australian Chamber of Commerce as well as Nepalese Chamber of Commerce
- Promote activities to enhance bilateral trade relationship between Australia and Nepal
- Carry out activities related to trade promotion in conjunction with other activities such as Nepal Festival
Plan:
- Review the progress on Business Council initiatives so far
- Start discussions and support in feasibility study for the establishment of Australia-Nepal Chamber of Commerce
- Work out the way to increase bilateral relationship between Australia and Nepal
- Encourage bilateral trade between Australia and Nepal
- Initiate and the process of forming Australia-Nepal chamber of Commerce
- Prepare appropriate plan and present in the next meeting
